The
Indianapolis Zen Center exists for you. We offer the practice of Zen Buddhism, in a traditional lineage, to central Indiana. Our programs include Foundations of Zen classes, retreats with authentic teachers, public dharma talks, cultural presentations and a weekly schedule of practice sessions. These activities are designed to support and inspire your effort to perceive your true nature. The
Indianapolis Zen Center is a member of the Kwan Um School of Zen, an international organization founded by Zen Master Seung Sahn, the first Korean Zen Master to live and teach in the West. Our center was founded in 1991. Our Guiding Teacher is Lincoln Rhodes, JDPSN, one of Zen Master Seung Sahn's earliest students in the United States.
We have several upcoming events including open houses, introductory courses, retreats and dharma talks. For more information about those events click on Upcoming Events in the menu on the left. You can also feel free to visit us during any of our regularly scheduled practices, however if you are new to zen practice we recommend a short orientation before jumping right in. To view our practice schedule just click on Practice Schedule in the menu on the left.
